Juneau police, fire officials and state troopers reported:


A business on La Perouse Drive reported about 8:30 a.m. Thursday that its front door had been kicked in. No estimate of value was given. The incident is under investigation.


About 9 a.m. Thursday, a boy, 15, was arrested at Juneau-Douglas High School for fourth-degree misconduct involving a controlled substance. He was taken to the Johnson Youth Center.

Shortly after noon Thursday, an officer responded to Rainbow Row, and picked up drug paraphernalia found in a child's backpack. The paraphernalia was scheduled for destruction.

Shortly after noon Thursday, police conducted a traffic stop at Mile 3 of North Douglas Highway and arrested a man, 25, for an outstanding warrant and for marijuana possession. The man was also cited for speeding. He was lodged at the Lemon Creek Correctional Center.

Police conducted a traffic stop about 4:30 p.m. Thursday at Tee Harbor and arrested a man, 19, for sixth-degree misconduct involving a controlled substance. He was lodged at the state prison.

Underage drinking:

Police conducted a traffic stop shortly after 1 a.m. today on Camden Place, and issued a man, 18, a verbal warning for equipment. He issued a woman, 17, a verbal warning for tobacco possession and a citation for underage drinking.


After a report of gunshots, emergency personnel were called to a Mendenhall Valley address shortly before 1 p.m. Thursday, and found a man, 36, with no signs of life. The Juneau Police Department investigated. The man, who had been living in Juneau for four or five years, was apparently living in a trailer and had been doing construction work for the owners of the property for several months. Police have requested an autopsy, and are trying to contact next-of-kin in Washington state.
