Juneau Youth Football League Crimson Bears chorebusters: The Juneau Youth Football League's Juneau-Douglas High School Crimson Bears annual chorebusters service is now taking reservations. Gastineau Channel Little League registration: Register your child for softball or baseball at the Nugget Mall. Registration is from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday the weekend of March 3-4. Players new to the league must provide birth certificates. Early registration rates apply. 4-H Air Rifle Club meetings: The club will hold six Thursday night meetings, from 6:50-8 p.m. starting March 1 (runs through April 5), at the Boys and Girls Club on Mallard Street behind Nugget Mall. The club will teach youngsters shooting safety as well as basic rifle shooting skills. The club is open to children at least 10 years old, and it costs $6 to join with the club providing all air rifles and pellets. Bruce Bowler will lead the group of instructors. Capital City Classic pool tournament: Juneau's biggest pool tournament is March 8-11 at two downtown locations, the Imperial Billiards and Bar and the Viking Lounge. The tournament costs $50 per player per event to enter. Nine-ball starts at 9 a.m. on March 8, 8-ball is 9 a.m. on March 9, 8-ball Scotch doubles is 9 a.m. on March 10, and all finals start at 9 a.m. on March 11. Juneau 4-H cross-country ski program: Meet from 1:30-3 p.m. every Sunday at locations TBA (call the University of Alaska Southeast Cooperative Extension Service for the location of that week's outing). The program is open to skiers in grades K-12, and parents are invited to participate. Membership fee for 4-H program is $6. Open Gyms

Youth open gyms: From 8-11 p.m. on Saturdays (3/3 and 3/10) at Dzantik'i Heeni Middle School, and from 8-11 p.m. on Fridays (3/2 and 3/9) at Floyd Dryden Middle School. No cost for students grades 5-12. Adult volleyball/basketball open gyms: at Dzantik'i Heeni Middle School, Cost is $4. From 7-9 p.m. on Sundays (2/25, 3/4 and 3/11) and Fridays (3/2 and 3/9).
