I am writing to encourage Gov. Sarah Palin to do away with the Gravina Access Highway. At about $8 million per mile of public money, this is a fiscal mistake.
Sound off on the important issues at
After Palin's statements regarding the bridge and the presumed difficulty of funding with money that would otherwise go to maintenance and safety improvements in Ketchikan and around the state, the Gravina project simply isn't needed. I urge the governor to reconsider the contract rushed by the Murkowski administration (in similar fashion to the Juneau pioneer road), and do away with a bad project propped up by taxpayers.
