ANCHORAGE - An Anchorage man received a 69-year jail sentence for his kidnapping and rape conviction last summer.
The Anchorage District Attorneys Office says Nathawn Johnson had 19.5 years of his sentence suspended, leaving him with slightly less than 50 years to serve.
The sentence stems from the conviction of an incident that took place July 11, 2007.
Prosecutors say Johnson kidnapped and raped a woman who believed she was applying for a job at a local restaurant when she accepted his offer for a ride.
Instead of providing rides to the restaurant or an interview, prosecutors say Johnson forced the woman at knifepoint into an abandoned trailer near his old East Anchorage neighborhood.
