Posted: Wednesday, February 26, 2003

ANCHORAGE The National Park Service has released a draft of its backcountry management plan for Denali National Park and Preserve.

The Park Service says the plan is intended to address increasing use of remote areas of the park during the past two decades. The four alternatives in the draft explore different levels of access and resource protection.

The Park Service plans to hold informational workshops on the draft plan next month in Healy, Fairbanks, Anchorage, Wasilla, Cantwell and near Talkeetna.
