Whalen Turner book group organized

JUNEAU - Juneau Public Libraries is holding a book group in preparation for a visit from Megan Whalen Turner, an author of popular books for young adults. The group will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 27, at the Mendenhall Valley library.

Whalen Turner is the author of a collection of short stories, "Instead of Three Wishes," and two novels, "The Thief" and a sequel "The Queen of Altolia," which received the Newbery Honor book award in 1997.

The libraries have multiple copies of "The Thief" and the "Queen of Atolia" available for borrowing. Whalen Turner will visit for a reception and presentation at the downtown library at 7 p.m. Sunday, March 9.
