Josh Clark, 20, is the recipient of a NASA Alaska Spacegrant Program Scholarship for $1,000. The scholarship was available to students with interests in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

Clark is a first-year student at the University of Alaska Southeast, majoring in math and pre-engineering. Completing his prerequisites at UAS was a given for Clark, who has lived his entire life in Juneau.

“It’s a good way to start,” Clark said of the pre-engineering program at UAS. “And they’ve made it so that you can transfer really easily to Anchorage to finish your degree.”

After finishing the pre-engineering program at UAS next year, Clark plans to go to the University of Alaska Anchorage to complete his degree in electrical engineering.
