Well once again the state government is acting just like the federal government. They both are going to balance the budget on the backs of the poor and the children.
In the Feb. 23, Empire on Page 3, a story said that thousands of families will no longer receive checks to pay for child care. This would include the welfare-to-work programs.
The representatives and the senators are still receiving $171 a day for being in Juneau. Remember this is not wages, it is just for being here.
When will the big shots understand that by balancing the budget on the poor and the children is wrong? When will they understand the fact that by making the poor children live as poor as possible just makes it harder to rise the standard of living for those children?
The state is now teaching the children to be poor and keeps them on the welfare roles as they grow up by saying the wages we get paid is more important then your child care.
If we cannot afford to help our children who are born poor, why is it that the representatives and senators make at least $10,000 per month and they haven't had a cut in pay of any kind in the history of this state?
If we cannot keep care of the children who are born poor, then we cannot afford to pay any person that is in any office or works for any government more than $2,000 per month.
