JUNEAU - Thursday, March 6, Juneau residents will have an opportunity to participate in a workshop exploring spirituality and healing. Growing numbers of medical practitioners and people of all faiths are taking a fresh look at the relationship of spirituality and prayer to health, well-being and healing. This growing trend is evidenced by the increasing sales of books on spirituality and the art of healing, as well as the continuing professional interest in programs such as Harvard Medical School's Spirituality & Healing in Medicine symposiums.

The workshop will be conducted by Honor R. Hill, CS of Dallas, Texas. Hill's workshop will be held at the Aspen Hotel, 1800 Shell Simmons Drive, at 7 p.m., Thursday March 6 . In the workshop, ideas in the best-selling book "Science and Health," by Mary Baker Eddy, will explored. The book has sold more than 10 million copies in 17 languages and is used daily by people seeking emotional relief, improved health and greater peace of mind.

The book is also on the recommended reading list for Harvard's Spirituality & Healing in Medicine symposium. There is a registration fee of $12 (cash or check only) to cover the cost of workshop materials including a copy of Science and Health. For more information, please call 789-4992.

Hill is the President of the First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston Mass., which has branch churches throughout the world. She has been a full-time spiritual healer since 1986 and has lectured and conducted workshops extensively throughout the United States and Canada at health and spirituality expos, university and college medical classrooms and events, libraries, retirement communities and more.
