Baseden's hat trick lifts Island Pub

Christy Baseden scored a hat trick to lead the Island Pub past Jaded 4-2 on Sunday in Juneau Adult Hockey Association Women's Tier A action at Treadwell Arena.

Baseden scored two of her three goals in the decisive second period. Michelle Morris scored a goal, and Liz Johnston had an assist for the Island Pub.

Jessica Parks stopped 22 of 24 shots in the win.

Dana West and Tami Watts scored for Jaded, with Myiia Whistler earning an assist.

Jaded goaltender Dawn Voss made 17 saves.

TIER A

Play It Again Sports 8, DocWater's Pub 4

Play It Again Sports scored seven goals in the final two periods to rout DocWater's Pub on Sunday.

Stan Savland led the scoring barrage with two goals and three assists. Matt Boline had two goals and an assist, while Kellen Kraft, Mike Dziuba, Colin Osterhout and Mike Farrell tallied one goal each in the win.

Mark Kaelke contributed two assists, while Jim DeLaBruere, John Bohan, Michael Wunderlich and Davin Savikko had one assist each.

Clayton Jernigan made 22 saves for Play It Again Sports.

Tracy Bennett led DocWater's Pub with two goals. David Kovach had a goal and an assist, Mark Hieronymus scored, while Flip Pryor, Tom Ainsworth, Hayden Hoke and Justin Fantasia recorded one assist each.

Thomas McKenzie stopped 21 of 29 shots in defeat.

TIER B

Winter Kings 7, Ice Dogs 4

James Swanson posted two goals and three assists to lead the high-scoring Winter Kings past the Ice Dogs on Monday.

Chris Chiles scored twice, Wayne Coleman had a goal and assist, Randy Host scored while Randy Gregg, Brian Van Kirk and Robert Jones tallied two assists each for the Winter Kings.

Stephen Morrison made 24 saves in the win.

For the Ice Dogs, goaltender Jim Craig stayed busy by stopping 33 of 40 shots.

Jim Ord and Jeff Nichols had a goal and assist each, while Matthew Pennington and Ryan Harvey scored in defeat. Bill Holbrook and Mick Leach had assists for the Ice Dogs.

Kensington Goldminers 6, Island Pub 0

Jerry Nankervis stopped all 19 shots he faced to preserve a Sunday shutout of the Island Pub.

Ian Leary scored twice while Kevin Dickman, Dan Fremgen, Tod Young and Thomas McKenzie tallied one goal each in the win. Dickman and Young also recorded assists for Kensington.

Island Pub goaltender Mario Perez made 16 saves in defeat.

WOMEN'S B

Gold 0, Alaskan Dames 0

Three periods couldn't break the deadlock between the Gold and Alaskan Dames on Monday.

Liz Johnston made 11 saves for the Gold, while Alaskan Dames goaltender Lisa Ouellette stopped 18 shots.

TIER C

D.K. Mining Co. 3, Blew Chunks 2

Jason Bluhm's goal midway through the third period broke a 2-2 tie and gave D.K. Mining Co. a win on Sunday.

Dan Hickok and Joshua McAdoo picked up the assists on Bluhm's goal. Hickok and Valeria Martinez scored goals and Darryl Tseu had an assist for D.K. Mining Co.

Wayne Coleman made 24 saves in the win.

Dana Hanselman scored both of Blew Chunks' goals while Michelle Warrenchuk chipped in an assist.

Jeffrey Goetz turned back 23 of 26 shots for Blew Chunks.

TIER D

Grey 2, Green 1

Two first-period goals was all the Grey needed in a Sunday victory over the Green.

Stephen Lewis and Kent Hart scored goals, and Andrew Parsons contributed an assist in the win.

Gene Cheeseman made 18 saves for the Grey.

The Green's Lisa Ouellette scored early in the third period off Chad Dubois' assist. Scott Sell turned back 20 of 22 shots in defeat.
