Juneau-Douglas City Museum goes virtual

The Juneau-Douglas City Museum's first virtual exhibit, featuring the recently acquired Schmitz photo collection, was launched Feb. 25 on the museum's Web site.

The Schmitz collection, which was acquired by the museum last summer, consists of a number of historical photographs that document an 1885 sailing through the Inside Passage.

The virtual exhibit will be updated periodically with new content, allowing home viewers to look at pictures as well as access historical data on each featured object. The new exhibition home can be accessed by visiting www.juneau.org/parkrec/museum/ and clicking on the virtual exhibit link under the Juneau history section.
