ANCHORAGE - An Anchorage man has been convicted of robbing a restaurant.
Twenty-one-year-old Charles Egbe faces a presumptive sentence of five to eight years for the robbery of China King restaurant in August. He was convicted last week.
A co-defendant, 20-year-old Marquis Hiriams, had earlier pleaded no contest.
Anchorage police say they entered the restaurant and lured the owner to an entryway, pretending they needed help.
Police say Hiriams pulled a handgun and put it to the owners head. One man struck the owner with the gun after learning the cash register was nearly empty.
Police say the pair made off with just $5 to $10.
The weapon resembled an automatic pistol but was found to be an unloaded BB gun.
