Juneau police, fire officials and state troopers reported:

Driving while intoxicated:

A few minutes after 11 p.m. Wednesday, Brent Mattson, 26, was arrested on Riverside Drive for drunken driving and driving with a blood-alcohol level over 0.l0 percent. Mattson was additionally charged with two counts of reckless endangerment, one for each passenger in his vehicle. He was lodged at the Lemon Creek Correctional Center.

Warrant arrests:

At 11:41 p.m. Wednesday, a woman, 36, was arrested at a hotel on South Franklin Street on two outstanding Juneau Police Department warrants and lodged at state prison. One warrant was $500 cash. The other was $250 cash. Both were issued for failure to appear on an original charge of domestic violence assault. Alcohol was involved in Wednesday's arrest.

Thefts, lost and found items:

About 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, someone brought to the Juneau Police Department a Sony battery charger and battery found on Front Street.


Capitol City Fire & Rescue responded at 8:05 p.m. Wednesday to a transformer fire on Douglas Highway. AEL&P also responded, and took charge of the situation. The cause of the fire was an older fuse holder that burned up, said David Stone of AEL&P. "It was a simple, easy repair." Power was out for a short period during the replacement, affecting only a few homes on North Douglas, Stone said this morning.

Traffic stops:

About 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, a man, 19, was cited on Riverside Drive for driving while his license was revoked. He was released at the scene. The vehicle was released to a licensed driver.

Vehicle accidents:

Capitol City Fire & Rescue responded to a two-vehicle accident just before 7 a.m. today on McGinnis Drive. There were no injuries serious enough to require ambulance transport.

Hit-and-run incidents:

About 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, a citizen reported that his vehicle was hit-and-run on D Street. There was damage to the driver's side door, front fender and windshield. There were neither leads nor suspects.
