What's the city of Juneau going to do with the few thousands dollars they save by taking the tax exemption away from senior citizens? Hire some more crossing guards? Let's just leave the senior citizen exemption alone.

I was stressing out over my algebra homework when my mom showed me the Empire's front page picture on Ash Wednesday. It reminded me that I am asked to live life as best I can and in a Christian way. My stress left me immediately. Thanks, I needed that.

Andy Rooney's column in Tuesday's Empire jokes about the questions he would ask if he were the host of a TV interview program. But he omits the $64,000 question for William Shakespeare: What is your real name?

Can anyone come up with a phone number for the Douglas Indian Association and share it in the Word of Mouth column? The number in the phone book has been disconnected, but everyone is saying the organization still exists.

I want to thank the governor and the Juneau delegation for ensuring that the addition to the University of Alaska Southeast library will only use forest and lumber products that are made right here in Southeast Alaska.
