Public smoking limits choice

Posted: Monday, March 01, 2004

Are there really people out there that believe that this ban is all about not letting people have fun?

For your information, the facts and figures are there, just go to your computer search engine and type in "Smoking Stats." Choose any of the links that come up.

I am a nonsmoker, and yes I am for this ban.

I would love to go out and have an occasional drink, play some pool and hang out with my friends but I don't do this as often as I would like for the sole reason that I can't take all the smoke.

Not only is it bad for your health but it also wreaks havoc on your hair, your skin, your clothes and you can't imagine what it does to people who wear contacts.

I would never be so presumptuous as to tell another human being what they can or cannot do, but I do ask that when or if this comes down to a vote, vote with everyone's health in mind.

Smoking is a personal choice but when you smoke in a public place you are essentially taking that other person's choice away.

I ask, is that fair?
