Fort Rich boy finalist for model contest

Posted: Monday, March 01, 2010

ANCHORAGE - A Fort Rich boy is a finalist in a national modeling contest. Nine-year-old Brandon Padgett could earn as much as $100,000

Brandon is among the top contenders in Old Navy's national search for new mannequin-like figures, based on flesh-and-blood models, that perform in the company's ads.

His mother, Ashley, entered him at the Old Navy store in East Anchorage a couple of weeks ago. She has been surprised to see him rank as high as eighth in standings.

The third grader at Ursa Minor Elementary School on Fort Richardson is also surprised. He says he didn't take a very good picture and thought he would be in last place.
