State department offers new public communication tool

JUNEAU - To bolster its communications with the public, the Department of Transportation and Public Facilities recently launched a new subscriber-based, free messaging service.
DOT&PF is now offering press releases, airport news, ferry information, public transit information and more with advisories via e-mail and text messages through a third party provider, GovDelivery.
The DOT&PF provides subscribers more than 20 specialized e-mail alerts topics. Subscribers can also choose to receive e-mail alerts and text messages to cell phones or other wireless devices
