High wind warning remains in effect for Juneau

A high wind warning is in place for Juneau today and through noon Thursday, according to a forecast from the National Weather Service. Gusts of wind are predicted to reach speeds between 70 and 90 mph downtown and in Douglas today and Thursday

Winds are expected to range from 20 to 35 mph in the city during the wind warning, with gusts outside of downtown and Douglas hitting the 45-mph mark.

Today’s high temperature is expected to be 18 degrees, with lows tonight reaching 10. However, wind chills may make the air feel as if it is 20 degrees below zero.
