U.S. Census offers form assistance

The U.S. Census Bureau will be operating Questionnaire Assistance Centers (QACs) from March 6 through April 14 in 54 communities throughout Alaska to help people with their Decennial Census forms. There is no cost for the service.

Trained volunteers and census staff will be available to answer questions, provide large-print guides, reading and language assistance. Visual aids in 37 languages will be available and some centers will have bilingual staff. Toll-free telephone numbers will be given to those needing assistance that cannot be provided at the local level. All assistance is strictly confidential.

After March 31, ``Be Counted'' questionnaires will be available at QACs sites for people who did not receive a census form or did not have conventional housing on April 1.
