Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race musher Fabrizio Lovati from Vallee D'Aoste, Italy, signs a stack of mail during the Iditarod mushers' meeting Thursday in Anchorage. The mail will be carried across the Iditarod trail and auctioned in Nome during the mushers' banquet. The 1,049-mile sled dog race from Anchorage to Nome begins Saturday.
