ANCHORAGE - Alaska State Troopers are investigating the death of a 65-year-old Copper Center woman who died when she was hit by a pickup driven by her husband.

Troopers say 74-year-old Roy Tansy told them he inadvertently struck Irene Tansy Sunday night while backing the truck up to the garage to unload a water tank.

Roy Tansy said his foot accidentally stepped on the gas pedal instead of the brake pedal and the truck hit his wife, who was outside guiding the vehicle back.
