ANCHORAGE - A granola bar distributed in Alaska has been recalled.
The state Department of Environmental Conservation said the manufacturer of Health Valley Organic Peanut Crunch, Dutch Apple and Wildberry Chewy Granola Bars is pulling back the product.
According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, Lovin Oven LLC voluntarily recalled the bars because they have the potential to be contaminated with salmonella.
No illnesses related to the granola bars have been reported.
Salmonella infection may be life-threatening to persons with weak immune systems.
Symptoms include diarrhea, abdominal cramps, and fever within eight to 72 hours. Chills, headache, nausea and vomiting can follow.
