High wind warning ends at noon today

A high wind warning that has been in effect in Juneau expires today at noon, according to a forecast from the National Weather Service.

However, the area will remain very windy for much of the day, with average speeds expected to be 35 to 45 mph in downtown and Douglas, with gusts reaching 65 mph in that area. The rest of Juneau should see 20 to 30 mph winds, with gusts topping out at 40 mph.

Thursday’s high temperature is expected to reach 22 degrees, with a low of 14.
