Regarding the article, "Talking Taboos," published in the Juneau Empire on Feb. 19, 2004, as student body president to the University of Alaska Southeast, I was quoted as saying that three "conservative, biblical-minded senators" had shown opposition to the student production of the Vagina Monologues.
The subsequent quote mentioned that, "sometimes people get blinded" by particular information.
I would like to clarify that I was not implying that the three senators were blind or that people with a conservative, biblical-minded outlook are blind.
The university continues to be a place where people of all backgrounds are welcome with their ideas and opinions.
