I would like to comment on Ms. Kussart's letter, which appeared in the Feb. 8 edition of your paper. My delay is caused by the fact that we usually receive the Empire a week after it is published.
Ms. Kussart asks who is going to pay for all the costs associated with maintaining a Juneau/Skagway road, if it is built. My reflection is that she should not worry about it as she lives in a state that believes in taxing everyone but themselves for the things they want.
It was interesting to note, in a recent Washington Post article, that Alaska will receive $6 for every $1 its citizens contribute to the gasoline tax fund.
