Automatically follow up after a job interview. Whether it's your first or third interview, following up will set you apart from other candidates. "It provides another context for which the person recognizes your name," says Heather Zeng, a career counselor based in Miami. "This is a true phenomenon in the brain that works off the fact that we recall those things that are foremost and repeated in our perception. The individual or committee that interviewed you may recall you more favorably based on this interesting note of physiology alone."
