Audubon of Alaska director to talk on shorebird migration

JUNEAU — The Juneau Audubon Society is inviting the public to a free lecture presented by Dr. Nils Warnock, executive director of Audubon Alaska, at 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 10, in the Egan Lecture Hall, room 112, at the University of Alaska Southeast.

Warnock will talk about Audubon Alaska’s projects and plans, and then segue into one of his favorite topics: shorebird migration and conservation. Warnock will focus on the migration of Alaska shorebirds. He will discuss the threats these species face, including loss of habitat, climate change, as well as a variety of other factors.
