JUNEAU — The Juneau Children Outdoors Community Coalition will be holding its 2nd annual Children’s Rain Gear Round-Up today from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Alaskan & Proud parking lot.
Volunteers with SAGA will be accepting donations for the swap which is scheduled to happen on Thursday, March 10 at Centennial Hall as part of the “Beaches, Boots and Blueberries: Learning Through Nature” Association of the Education of Young Children Southeast Alaska conference. Last chance donations may also be dropped the day of the conference between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
The purpose of this free clothing exchange is to provide children with the opportunity to get quality rain gear, so they may be prepared for outdoor play. Organizers ask that the donations are clean and in good condition. Rain coats, rain pants and rubber boots are needed in children’s sizes only — sizes 0 to 16.
