Starving for salmon

Posted: Wednesday, March 05, 2003

I'm

in full agreement with Mr. Engstrom that fisherman deserve a market. The processors say they can buy all the pinks and we all know they have rarely been able to handle a big pink return. Now that some fisherman are left without a market we see the processors and some fishermen with markets say no, no, no - don't let them Russians into Alaska. Did those short-sighted, self-serving individuals even think for a minute there are people that aren't only starving for a job but more importantly it is the people in this world that are starving for salmon? Please give the Russians the opportunity to make something happen for those that don't have markets for pink salmon.
