The Southeast Alaska Building Industry Association, Associated General Contractors of Alaska, Alaska Works Partnership, Southeast Regional Resource Center, Juneau Job Center and the University of Alaska Southeast have partnered for the purpose of delivering basic construction skills training to area residents to create a new supply of workers that meet the needs of local construction employers.

"The dynamics of the class was broader than our usual offerings primarily from the vast range of experiences many of the participants brought to the class," George said. "Additionally, the Juneau Construction Academy did a terrific job of applicant screening, resulting in extremely motivated students."
