The Blazer Club is hosting a "Beware the Ides of March Toga & Murder Party" on Friday night, March 7, at the Alaskan Hotel & Bar.
The evening will feature a Roman-themed night, including prizes for most creative toga and laurel combo.
The evening also will include competitive oratorios, a "stick the knife in Caesar's heart contest" and a "midnight senatorial murder," as well as dancing and general cavorting. Organizers ask that no real knives be brought on thepremises.
On Saturday, March 8, the Alaskan Hotel & Bar will feature live music with Pastor Lunchmeat & the Clambone Kings, including Collette Costa, Bob Banghart, Patrick Murphy, Eric Holle and Kid Burfl.
The band specializes in "full-body renditions of Dixieland-swing-polka-billy-jazz-bop" music. The music starts at 9:30 p.m.
