Pamplona has the running of the bulls, Juneau has the running of the mouths. Now you'll have the name of the bull that gored you.
I think the Empire shows a lot of class by deciding to print people's names in Word of Mouth and not put in anonymous comments in any more.
Thanks to Word of Mouth, I soon will be reunited with my skis as will my fellow skier.
The teachers are some of the hardest working, underpaid people there are. Parents, are you taking responsibility for your children, helping them with their homework, attending parent-teacher conferences, showing up for meeting like you're supposed to? If you're not, you have no room to complain about the teachers. They already are parents, teachers, counselors, doctors, etc. If you don't take an interest in what your children are doing then don't blame the teachers if your children don't do well.
About 75 percent of the people in Juneau must have broken left hands because they do not use their turn signals. And, they must not be able to read because they do not stop at stop signs.
I understand that at this time there are no plans for bus service from the Auke Bay ferry terminal during the very busy tourist season this summer. I feel our visitors deserve better than that.
I wish the Juneau Empire would resume stapling or stitching the center fold of Channels. By the end of the week those 32 pages are flying all over the place. It seems it can't cost that much more to put in a couple of staples.
A caller last week suggested the Empire do some features on Juneau's longtime residents. What a wonderful idea. If some of the Southeast seniors would share their memories a lot of us really would love to hear them.
What's up with the pile of scrap metal that's been along Egan Drive for the past six months? What an eyesore along an otherwise scenic drive from the Valley to downtown. It should be shipped out or sent to the landfill.
The mountain of scrap metal is scheduled to be barged away later this month. - Editor
