Potters needed for Empty Bowls fundraiser

Posted: Sunday, March 07, 2010

JUNEAU - The Glory Hole, Juneau's homeless shelter and soup kitchen, is looking for donations of handmade soup bowls from area-wide potters for its 2010 Empty Bowls fundraiser. Many local potters, both professional and amateur, have already agreed to make and donate bowls, but more are still needed.

Empty Bowls is a nationwide event that funds hunger relief programs. Diners select a bowl from which to have a simple meal of soup and bread and afterward take the bowl home as a reminder there are empty bowls everywhere in the world. This year's, Empty Bowls will be held April 25 at Centennial Hall.

If you have any questions, call The Glory Hole at 586-4159 or visit www.feedjuneau.org. To learn more about Empty Bowls, visit www.emptybowls.org.
