Thanks for helping Robbie Burns Night

Posted: Sunday, March 07, 2010

Stroller White Pipes and Drums and Highland Dancers thank all the individuals and businesses who generously contributed to our Robbie Burns Night celebration, which was held Jan. 23 at Centennial Hall.

Robbie Burns Night celebrates the life and poetry of Scotland's immortal bard, and Scottish and Celtic culture in general. Similar celebrations are held in many locations throughout the world around Burns' birthday on Jan. 25.

The success of our own Juneau Burns Night would not be possible without the generous support of our many contributors, volunteers and loyal audience.

Contributors to the event included: Alaska Glacier Seafoods, Alaska Seafood Co., Alaska Laundry, Alaskan Brewing Company, Martha Stey, Diane Antaya, Peggy Barnhill, Patsy Bearden, Sue Behnert, Blockbuster, Koren Bosworth, Rebecca Braun, Dave Hunsaker and Annie Calkins, Corinne Conlon, Costco, Energy Works - Leah LaBar, Will and Mindy Jones, Juneau Veterinary Hospital, Little Diggers and Landscaping, Jay and Amy Lloyd, Debbie Lowenthal, Chip and Missy McMillan, Michael New and Diana Rossmiller, Lisa Oliver, Pavitt Health and Fitness, Sacred Forest Healing Arts, Safeway, Thyes Shaub, Linda and Bob Shaw, Brandon Smith, Cindy Stevenson, the Odom Corporation for so generously staffing the whiskey tasting and providing the whiskey samples, Jim Hale, Chuck Tripp, Bill Thompson, Romer Derr, Peggy Pijan, KTOO, KINY, Juneau Empire, and all the hard working members of the SWPD Band and Highland Dancers - your local bagpipe band!
