How about building a railroad out of town?

Letter to the editor

Speaking about a road out of Juneau, yes, I'm for it. I feel this is a very good plan. We need it for our community.

Sound off on the important issues at

But why not make it a railroad? I feel very strongly that a railroad would be much more easy to maintain and would cost less money to build.

A railroad would bring in tourists and allow people who live here to come and go as they wish. Also, a railroad does not need as much maintenance as a highway. A private company could run it and the state would assist rather than financing the entire project.
