JUNEAU - The University of Alaska Southeast will host archaeologist John Terrell, of the Field Museum of Natural History, who will speak at 7 p.m. Thursday at the UAS Egan Library, Room 112. Terrell will present "Survivor Melanesia: Archaeology and the Secrets to Human Survival in the South Pacific."
An internationally recognized archaeologist, Terrell is especially interested in how people adapt to changing climate and environmental conditions. In the South Pacific, he is studying some of the same problems that people face here. If you're interested in archaeology, this is a great opportunity to learn about a little-known part of the world.
The event is free. For more information, contact Erica Hill at 796-6017 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
