Police and fire blotter

Juneau police, fire officials and state troopers reported:

Thefts:

A woman, 24, reported shortly before 10 a.m. Wednesday that her car had been broken into sometime overnight at Northwood Apartments. Missing were a gray car compact disk player and 10 CDs. Total estimated value was $200. There were no leads or suspects.

A woman, 31, reported about 10:30 a.m. Wednesday that she left her brown wallet unattended on the counter at St. Vincent De Paul for a few minutes on Saturday. When she returned, it was gone. The wallet contained identification and about $200 cash.

A woman, 36, reported about 2 p.m. Wednesday from the Wildmeadow Village parking lot at 10002 Glacier Highway that her Nokia cellular phone is missing.

A woman, 29, reported about 7 p.m. Wednesday that her green Jansport backpack was stolen from her vehicle parked on Montgomery Street. Missing were a backpack containing jogging clothes, a Sony Walkman, two necklaces and various personal items.

Assault:

While responding to a report of a verbal altercation between a woman, 67, and a man, 47, at Willoughby Avenue shortly before 11 a.m. Wednesday, police arrested the man on an outstanding warrant for being noncompliant with his sentence which required him to enroll in and complete an alcohol-abuse treatment program. His original conviction was driving while intoxicated.

A man, 41, was arrested by police about 9:30 p.m. Wednesday in Pocket Park for domestic violence assault of a woman, 42. He was additionally charged with carrying a deadly weapon, a large knife concealed on his person. Alcohol was involved in the incident. The man was lodged at the Lemon Creek Correctional Center.

Hit-and-runs:

A woman, 57, reported about 3:30 p.m. that her vehicle was hit by an unknown vehicle at the Jordan Creek Center. Damage was minor.

Fires:

Firefighters responded to a vehicle fire at 7:24 a.m. today. The vehicle was inbound on Egan Drive in the area of TEMSCO. No estimate of damage was available.

Other:

Police conducted a traffic stop shortly before 5 p.m. Wednesday on Egan Drive and arrested a man, 28, on three outstanding warrants. Two of the warrants were from Petersburg and one from Wrangell. He was lodged at the state prison.
