Pen is still mightier than the sword

Posted: Sunday, March 09, 2003

I am honored to have Jane Roodenburg quote from my poem, "Shoot-Out at the Bergman Hotel," especially since, to the best of my knowledge, she only heard it once at an open mike over five years ago.

But, for the record, the direct quote is "One hundred tree hugging, whole wheat eating, Birkenstock sandal wearing, tea sipping, free loving, solar powered, fuzzy headed, eco-freakin, meditating vegetarian feminazis & their / dirty, long haired tie dyed in the wool bleeding heart liberal geothermal button pushing bottled water drinking bongo playing bureaucratic establishment flunky pansy boyfriends."

Mr. Schmitz, precisely what is wrong with being an Allen Ginsberg wanna-be - other than ensuring no invitation to one of the First Lady's poetry soirées.

Not all revolutionaries carry swords, you know. Some of us still believe in the pen.
