Fisherman fined for undersized crabs

Posted: Sunday, March 09, 2008

JUNEAU - A Petersburg man pleaded no contest and was sentenced to pay a $5,000 fine Thursday on charges that he took undersized crabs.

The Petersburg District Court Judge suspended $3,500 of the fine and ordered two years of probation for Thomas Greer, according to Alaska State Troopers.

The charges were the result of an investigation that showed Greer, fishing aboard the Tacoma, caught and retained undersized male tanner crab, troopers said.
