Gilbert James Sr., 72, died March 7, 2005, in Juneau.
He was born July 19, 1932, in Kake to Bert K. and Alice R. James. He moved to Juneau, where he met his first wife, Winniefred Alice James. When she passed away, he married Dorothy Coronell.
He loved to go fishing and hunting. When the water was too rough, he would go trout fishing at the local creeks. He worked for the local landfill beginning when he was 19. He retired from the landfill in 2004.
He is survived by brothers and sisters, Ivan James, Robert James and Audrey Bagoyo of Juneau, and Vivian Johnson of Angoon; sons and daughters, Roy, Vivian, Mike, Henry, Shelia, Colleen, Gerald, Ben, Lillian, Ray, Frank, Nita, Joe and Chris; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers are Ed Ezrre, Ivan James, Kurt Milnes, Paul Neil, Ben Coronell, Frank Coronell, Pete Tassel, Glen Howard, Chris Bagoyo, Lee Bagoyo and Rodney James French.
