Turin Paralympics to be televised on World Wide Web

Juneau's Joe Tompkins to compete in alpine ski racing events for the U.S.

Fans of Juneau monoskier Joe Tompkins can follow his races at the 2006 Turin Paralympic Winter Games via the Internet.

Tompkins, a member of the U.S. Disabled Alpine Ski Team, will be competing in his second Olympics.

A Web site called Paralympic TV makes it possible to view some of the events from Turin, Italy.

This is the 30th Paraylmpics and athletes from more than 40 countries will be competing. The Games start today in Turin.

Tompkins finished second in the downhill at the U.S. Disabled Alpine National Championships last month and took seventh in the super-G.
