Driving while intoxicated:
Shortly before 1 p.m. Friday, police arrested Manuel Flores, 53, on Glacier Highway for driving while intoxicated. He was additionally charged with driving with a blood-alcohol level over 0.10 percent. He was lodged at the Lemon Creek Correctional Center.
After receiving a report of a motor vehicle accident, police responded to Nancy Street about 2 a.m. Saturday and arrested David Scott Downey, 38, for driving while intoxicated. Downey was lodged at state prison.
Police arrested Robert Sharclane, 25, about 5 a.m. Saturday on Egan inbound at Norway Point. He was charged with driving while intoxicated and additionally charged with driving with a blood-alcohol level over 0.10 percent and reckless endangerment. His passenger, a man, 25, was provided with courtesy transportation. Sharclane was lodged at state prison.
An employee at Big Kmart requested assistance with a shoplifter shortly before 4 p.m. Friday. A woman, 18, was arrested for second-degree theft. She was lodged at state prison.
About 11:30 a.m. Friday, a woman, 22, reported $210 in cash and a $280 check were stolen while she was on a boat in Harris Harbor.
About 10:30 a.m. Friday, a woman, 36, reported she had lost somewhere in Juneau a white gold woman's ring set with diamonds and sapphires. The value of the ring is $2,000.
A woman, 66, brought to the Juneau Police Department about 1 p.m. Friday a decorative artifact she had found on Back Loop Road. The object was placed into safekeeping.
About 10:30 a.m. Friday, a man, 29, was involved in a motor vehicle accident on Riverside Drive. He was cited for driving a motorcycle without a valid operator's license. The motorcycle sustained about $3,500 damage. The driver sustained minor injuries but declined transportation to Bartlett Regional Hospital.
Police responded to a report of an accident at 5:30 p.m. Friday at Fifth and D Streets. The accident involved two drivers, a boy, 16, and a woman, 36. The boy was cited for failure to yield after a stop. Both vehicles sustained about $5,000 damage. There were no injuries.
A man, 21, was arrested about 1:30 p.m. Friday on Glacier Highway for driving with a revoked operator's license. He was lodged at state prison.
Police conducted a traffic stop about 2:30 a.m. Saturday at Thunder Mountain and arrested a man, 20, for driving with a revoked license. He was released at the scene.
A man (age unknown) reported about 3 a.m. Saturday that there was nylon fishing line strung across North Douglas Highway near Bonnie Doon Drive. Cars were striking the object or objects dangling from the line. The responding officer could not locate the object(s).
