Alaska rescuers parachuted to remote cabin

Posted: Friday, March 12, 2010

FAIRBANKS - A man who was rescued by Air National Guardsmen parachuting to his remote cabin north of Denali National Park has been released from a hospital.

The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner reported 57-year-old Eric Wade suffered heart pain Saturday at the cabin near the Bearpaw River.

A helicopter was unable to land right away, so members of the 212th Rescue Squadron parachuted to his cabin and provided aid until they were picked up later by a copter from Fort Wainwright.
