The Juneau World Affairs Council is sponsoring a forum on Asian and Pacific Rim Issues on Friday and Saturday, March 14 and 15at the University if Alaska Southeast.
The dignitaries and experts speaking at the forum include Consul General Jocelyn Batoon-Garcia from the Philippines Embassy in Washington, D.C., Lt. Gen. Thomas Case, U.S. Ambassador Linda Yang, Indonesian Consul General Susanto Utomo, Taipei Economic Affairs Director Paul Chang, East-West Center President Charles E. Morrison and University of Washington Professor of International Studies and Political Science Donald Hellmann.
The visiting dignitaries and experts will hold forum discussions on Asian and Pacific Rim issues from 9-11:30 a.m. and 1-4:30 p.m. Friday, March 14, and 9-11:30 a.m. and 1-4:30 p.m. Saturday, March 15, at the Egan Library at the University of Alaska Southeast.
The Juneau World Affairs Council, in conjunction with the Juneau Filipino Community, will hold the Asia Pacific Rim Ball beginning at 7 p.m. Friday, March 14, at the Egan Library. Ballroom dancing instruction will be 7-8 p.m., and the Thunder Mountain Big Band will play and the Filipino dancers will perform.
