Thanks for the tour

Girl Scout Troop 4025 would like to thank John Adams and the Glacier Fire Station for the tour of the Glacier Fire Station and providing fire safety lesson. We had a fun afternoon and learned a lot of valuable lessons.

Fat Tuesday Follies a success

We may have started a new tradition at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church. Our first annual Fat Tuesday Follies pancake dinner and variety show was a deliciously fabulous success. Thank you to everyone who came to the event. With a fellowship room packed with right around 100 guests, we pigged out on pancakes and marveled at the myriad of talent in our variety show.

Our pancake chefs estimate they flipped about 500 pancakes — what a hungry crowd! Thank you to our variety show participants and our event volunteers. There are many of you, too many to mention, but you know who you are and we love you for all of your hard work. Thank you also to the following businesses for their generous donations of prizes: McDonald’s, Subway of Juneau, Homespun Mercantile and Wings Airways & Taku Glacier Lodge. Your support of our event is much appreciated. We are blessed to be part of this community. Peace.

Thanks for the support

The family of Terry Dean would like to thank the community of Juneau for all your support and kindness during our time of sorrow. We would like to especially thank Polly Lloyd, Vance Sanders and Vicki Sobeloff and the Xaadas Gitalang dance group for all of your extraordinary help and kindness.

We would also like to thank Terry’s “University Family,” P-FLAG family and entire Xaadas Gitalang dance group, especially Fred Richardson, Linda Carroll, Casina Shakespeare and Joe Yates; also, Ben Ng, Vern Hardin and Deloris Cadiente, Ed and Cathy Thomas, the Jones Family, Hospice of Juneau, the ambulance crew and Alaska Airlines who helped Terry get back to her home in Juneau. A heart-felt thank you to all of the people, too numerous to name, that have provided comfort and help during this time.

Juneau is a very compassionate community, and we are grateful for that compassion to our family during this time.

Ken Dean, Aaron and Audrey Dean, and Shirley Dean
