George Orwell's book, "1984," the government of Big Brother created a language, "doublespeak," to explain and legitimize any of its actions. "War is peace" is one example. As quoted from yesterday's Juneau's Empire "[U.S.] State Department spokesman Richard Boucher said Wednesday that the stand of French President Jacques Chirac is making it less likely that Iraq can be disarmed peacefully." 2003 seems to be moving alarmingly closer to 1984 every day.
