Thanks for supporting my business, Seventh Heaven
Sound off on the important issues at
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the community of Juneau for all the support you have shown me in my business at Seventh Heaven Day Spa for the past 11 years. I feel truly blessed to have lived in such a warm-hearted community for the past 15 years. Little did I know where that would lead me. The adventure of operating a business that provides nurturing services to this town has been such a rewarding and growing experience. Words seem small and trivial in comparison to the experience itself. I want to especially thank my many loyal clients (you know who you are) that truly, I could not have done it without you. It was such a gift to work with you all these years. I have had the time of my life. It truly has been an experience of love. But as we all know, there is nothing more certain in life than change. And just as Seventh Heaven has changed and evolved over the years, this final last piece is all part of our growth. It is bittersweet that Seventh Heaven will soon fade away, but all the tender loving care and joy created there will live on forever in our hearts. I also want all the loyal purchasers and fortunate receipients of Seventh Heaven gift certificates to know that the new spa will be honoring your certificates.
I also want to thank all those who have served Seventh Heaven as staff over the years. In particular, Shayla Lewis, my sister Leah LaBar, Mary Opp, Nerissa Dumayas, Rebecca Albert, Debra Ross, Jolene Blackwell, Krista Youl and Zeela Bryn Mawr to name only a few. As you all know, I certainly could not have done it without you! And last but hardly least, I want to thank Donna Perrin, who gave me my first break in massage at JRC The Alaska Club 15 years ago. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart. I had a blast!
Thanks for helping make our raffle successful
The Juneau Raptor Center held a successful raffle with ticket proceeds going toward its building fund. On behalf of the board of directors, I would like to thank all those members who contributed their Saturday mornings and afternoons selling tickets at the Nugget Mall. We had a JRC education bird with a handler and a ticket seller at the mall on most Saturdays from Oct. 28 to Jan. 27.
Thank you to all who purchased a raffle ticket (or more) and sold tickets to family and friends. Also, thank you to everyone who fed our own donation container too.
We would like to thank the following for donating prizes for this raffle: Princess Tours, Alaska Fly 'N' Fish Charters, Urban Eskimo, Jason Grove, Nugget Alaskan Outfitters and JRC The Alaska Club members for their cash donations.
The winners are as follows: first, Steve Sorensen; second, Anne Murphy; third, Kirsten Swanson; fourth, Linda Shaw; and fifth, Mathew VanSteenwyk.
The JRC would like to thank the Nugget Mall and Bea Findlay for allowing us to set up tables and sell raffle tickets free of charge on numerous Saturdays.
President, Juneau Raptor Center
