JUNEAU - Dr. Stephen Cameron will present a two-day workshop on "True Health" at 9 a.m.-5 p.m. March 29 and 9 a.m.-1 p.m. March 30 at the Tlingit and Haida Community Center.
Cameron has practiced medicine for 16 years and leads classes on a wide variety of health-related subjects. He has spent many years training closely with performing artists and martial arts experts.
In Russia, he worked for Doctors Without Borders treating tuberculosis. Author of "Performance Kayaking," he is a also a past member of the U.S. Slalom Whitewater Team.
Cameron believes care of the physical body is vital to well-being, but comprehensive health requires insight into the nature and depth of personal and social problems. With deeper inquiry, subjects that initially appear unrelated to health are found to be of utmost importance, he said. During his workshop, discussions, physical exercises and group activities will be used to bring home points and themes.
