Five Juneau-Douglas High School basketball players were named to the All-Region V-Class 4A Teams on Saturday night at the region tourney in Sitka.
Seniors Tasha McKoy and Kendri Cesar, along with freshman Talisa Rhea, made the girls' team from the region champion Crimson Bears.
Senior Adam Nelson and sophomore Josh Monagle were the two Juneau players named to the boys squad. The Crimson Bear boys finished second to Ketchikan.
Other girls making the Class 4A team were juniors Destiny Bell and Tory Edwardson of Ketchikan, and sophomore Kim Dodson of Sitka.
Ketchikan led the way with three boys on the Class 4A squad - senior Nate Norton and juniors Tyler Richardson and Jesse LeBeau. Sitka junior George Wathen also made the team.
All five senior girls on the region champ Petersburg Vikings squad made the Class 3A girls All-Region Team. They were Britni Birchell, Kayleigh Short, Autumn Streuli, Tessa Bergmann and Katrina Berg.

The dance team all-tourney team included:
Juneau-Douglas: Tessina Davidson, Nicole Bavard, Kayla Ely, Katherine Leque
Sitka: Alana Peterson
Ketchikan: Amanda Hammermeister
In the free-throw competitions, Wrangell's Laura McCay won the girls event by sinking 24 out of 25 attempts. Juneau's Heather Dillon hit 18 of 25 tries.
Petersburg's Kyle Skinner beat Ketchikan's Jesse LeBeau in a shootout in the boys event. Skinner and LeBeau each hit 23 of 25 in regulation. After LeBeau hit four in a row before missing in the shootout, Skinner sank five in a row to win the title.
Juneau's Adam Nelson hit 21 of 25 tries.
Cheer and dance team adjudication
The Juneau-Douglas High School cheerleaders won top honors among Class 4A cheer squads at the region tournament. Petersburg won first place among Class 3A squads, with Wrangell claiming second place.
In the dance competition, Juneau-Douglas earned a superior rating - the highest possible. They debuted a new routine at the tournament, which charted the evolution of dance styles from the 1970s to the present.
Ketchikan received an excellent rating, and Sitka earned a good rating.
