On Feb. 17 the Empire ran a front page photo of a bunch of protesters standing outside of Wednesday evening's public hearing on the Juneau Access project. The picture, along with the bold headlines, stating that the majority of the people that testified spoke against the project, should make it clear that we don't want the road.
One little problem with that picture though is at the next evening's hearings the testimony was overwhelming in support of the project. This consisted of not only individual testimony, but also of large organizations from state, local and other Southeast communities who were very much in support of the road.
I don't think surprised is the correct word for it, but the rest that comes to mind wouldn't be printed. I'm surprised that there wasn't one word about the second meeting in the Empire.
